StilModerno is an ensemble founded by Carlo Centemeri, in activity since 2005. The group's members are musicians particularly experienced in the world of chamber music and a special interest for the music literature related to seventeenth and eighteenth centuries The Ensemble plays baroque and pre-classical repertoire with modern instruments, but aiming to a historically informed performance: there is, in fact, a particular attention to the period performing approach through the study and the comparison between original treatises. Moreover, the ensemble adds a deep and careful study of the original sources (both printed and manuscripts), to have a really complete and informed approach to the music they play. The target of the Ensemble, thus, is to offer philogically correct performances, nevertheless exploiting the sound potentialities of modern instruments. This peculiarity makes the ensemble bring contemporary audiences to ancient music through sounds and tones typical of our times As a particular feature of the group, they play "a parti reali", so with a single player for each instrumental part. Moreover, by precise choice, without a conductor. To integrate the more commonly heard repertoire, Ensemble StilModerno is constantly busy in research and revalutation of compositions rarely played or never performed in modern times, thus more interesting. In this point of view must be considered their performances of composers like Giovanni Battista Bassani, Giuseppe Antonio Brescianello, Andrč Cheron, Evaristo Felice Dall'Abaco. The group, moreover, is involved in contemporary music projects and has performed world premieres of compositions dedicated to this ensemble |
